Sustainability day at Wipf AG

It was on a Thursday in November. When the public bus arrived at the stop in Volketswil shortly before 10 am, it was cold and foggy. A gaggle of cheerful boys and girls aged 10 to 12 swarmed into the lobby at Wipf AG where they were personally welcomed by chairman of the board Christian Wipf.

Subsequently, head of development and engineering Othmar Wohlhauser, production manager Oliver Fankhauser, and development manager Gregor Klopfer familiarized the kids with the manufacturing processes and the diversified packaging solutions. Based on real-world examples, the students learned how sustainable flexible packaging can be. The children eagerly raised their hands when they were given the opportunity to ask questions.

Split into three groups, the children donned hairnets and white lab coats for a tour through the manufacturing facilities during which the group leaders explained the procedures and sustainability in production.

After lunch, the delighted and grateful students headed home with a present and lots of fresh knowledge from the world of packaging.
