Zürcher Kantonalbank awards SME Prize: Wipf AG finishes third

On 27 January 2016, Zürcher Kantonalbank awarded its SME Prizes for sustainable companies for the seventh time. The total prize money amounts to 150,000 Swiss francs. The prizes pay tribute to exceptional sustainability efforts by small and medium-sized enterprises. As one of the 160 companies that participated in the awards programme, we are proud to have won the 3rd prize with CHF 30,000.

With its SME Prize, awarded every year, Zürcher Kantonalbank salutes small and mid-sized businesses that make outstanding contributions in the domain of sustainable development. Zürcher Kantonalbank is convinced that companies which operate sustainably perform better in the long term and can better position themselves in their competitive environments. Composed of respected leaders in business, science, and politics, the jury assesses the participants with respect to current and forward-looking economic, management, ecological, and social aspects.

This year's prizewinners were chosen for their outstanding contributions to sustainable development. The 3rd prize was secured by Wipf AG for its innovative spirit and its quality consciousness in flexible packaging solutions.

GGZ Gartenbau Genossenschaft Zürich won the 1st prize. The company stands out especially with a high level of employee satisfaction and identification. The 2nd prize was given to Pronatec AG, which scored high marks for traceability across the entire value chain. The company serves the food industry and the food retailing community with bio-label and fairtrade-certified products. Arento AG, a leading architectural firm in the field of ecological housing construction, and Schmid Transporte Niederglatt AG, a pioneer in ecologically sound waste disposal, each won one of the two special prizes.
